In February this year, my PIP journey came to an angry head. Following a Mandatory Reconsideration, after lies being told in my PIP review (Phone Call). They moved me down from the Enhanced rate to the Standard for Daily Living and Mobility Portions. The award was for 10 points on both (2 points away from Enhanced Rate – I’m not convinced this wasn’t a deliberate act)
Upon submitting my Tribunal, A week or so after I got access to the HM Courts and Tribunal Services website. It is at this point you can submit evidence to the judge, add a representative etc.
This is the Tribunal page, obviously I have blocked out key details

The DWP response that arrived was for me about 400+ pages, of every single item that has been sent and received since my PIP claim started in 2014. It also contains a page that explains how they came to a decision and what page number the information refers too. As an example

As you can see on image one it states that Page 320 “Reports that his medication is taken independently, no aids or prompting required” Now this is wrong for 2 reasons, my partner actually monitors my medication – I take 26 tablets a day and suffer memory problems (which there is seperate evidence for) but lets ignore that for now and focus on the line “no aids or prompting required” Which is mentioned also on Image 2.
The very next line on Image 2 states “customer uses a dosette box to take medication”
Now there maybe some people who don’t know what a dosette box is, so i’ve included a picture below.

According to Courtside.nhs.uk a dosette box is described as …
What is a dosette box?
Dosette boxes, also known as ‘trays’, ‘blister packs’ or ‘multi-compartment compliance aids’ are containers which have separate compartments for days of the week and times of the day and can assist people with taking their medicines.
So the NHS has it described as a ‘multi-compartment compliance aid'” , So in the interview (image 2) that is what they have written. As I mentioned earlier there are several other errors in but we are focussing on just the most obvious.
This on the PIP points award is just 1 extra point – However that could become important for someone. My personal situation is
- Needs supervision, prompting or assistance to be able to manage therapy that takes no more than 3.5 hours a week. 2 points.
My partner, who is also my carer, manages my medication as I take 26 tablets daily. I have attempted to organize them myself but ended up mixing them up. I struggle to remember dosages, and the medications frequently change in color and shape. Additionally, some medications I take only at certain times, but not always.
These 2 points are the difference between my award of Standard Rate of PIP, the rates of which for 2026/2027 are
Daily Living Component
- Standard rate: £76.70 (up from £73.90)
- Enhanced rate: £114.60 (up from £110.40)
That in itself is £37.90 per week ( nearly £2,000 a year)
Mobility Component
- Standard rate: £30.30 (up from £29.20)
- Enhanced rate: £80.00 (up from £77.05)
The mobility component is different because the Enhanced rate would go and pay for my Motability Car, for which there are numerous savings. However I am not entitled to those because I am missing my Enhanced rate by 2 points.
If however I had a car and were using that Enhanced rate seperately I would be missing out on £49.70 a week. (£2584.40 per year)
So currently in total due to DWP not being able to read there own documents and the proof that they are referring to I am being underpaid by £87.60 per week which is £4552.20 a year.
Thank you to Sue for helping me write all of this and do the calculations as I wanted to bring this up but didn’t know how to word it correctly.
Thank You For Visiting The Rambling Tarper
