Well, just when I thought this show couldn’t get any more gloriously unhinged. Episode 6 drops us into a universe where humanity somehow evolved from cows. Yes, you read that right. You would think that facing the literal collapse of the multiverse would prompt some sort of heroic urgency! What does our dimension-hopping disaster crew do? Stuart and Denise decide they are just going to kick back, embrace the high-fructose lifestyle, and leave Bert and Kripke with the broken quantum device.
The sheer level of cosmic incompetence on display here is just phenomenal. The episode brilliantly forces you to sit there and watch Stuart and Denise practically give up on saving reality. Just because they found a world where chewing the cud and obsessing over corn is the norm. Throw in an incredible appearance by Raj—who is the only one in this bovine reality actually trying to warn people about the impending doom while nobody listens—and it is pure comedy gold.
Watching the group get completely derailed by their own bizarre inability to stay on task is hilarious. The visual of Stuart, Denise, and Kripke going absolutely feral over a giant bowl of corn is burned into my brain forever. It perfectly captures the core joke of the entire series: massive, terrifying cosmic stakes met with the most aggressively absurd human (or cow) distractions possible.
Now here is this week’s podcast
It’s an absolute 5-star triumph from start to finish that proves Stuart’s failures are the best part of the universe. Ya love to see it!
