This follows up on my PIP Tribunal post, so if you haven’t read it yet, please take the time to do so.
The DWP decided on 24th November to reduce both my Daily Living Component and Mobility Component of PIP to the standard rate, awarding 10 points for each portion. This will become relevant shortly.
I knew that because of my anxiety and everything else, I wouldn’t be able to attend a tribunal hearing in person (though I do recommend you attend if you can). So, I chose to proceed with a paper-based tribunal. I received conflicting information about the timescales—some said it could take over two years, others said five months. I had no clear idea what to expect. I was confident I could challenge all their claims, as they contradicted themselves and even misread pages that contained a diagnosis they later denied I had.
I received a letter that I was going to upload to the Tribunal Page from my Neurologist who was disgusted with their views. I logged on…

My heart sank—why on earth was it closed? I hadn’t closed it myself. A rush of thoughts flooded my mind. I began clicking around aimlessly, not even considering the outcome of the hearing, since it would take ages. Then, finally, I clicked on it and was met with a shocking surprise.

Enhanced Rate for Both Daily Living and Mobility with a total of 12 points added. I’m not going to go into the individual breakdown but from having a total of 20 points originally to 32 points is a sizeable gap. Although nowhere near the largest turnaround I have seen. I used Google Gemini to work out how much backdate I was entitled to, and then asked it to turn it into an easy to Use Interface and after a HUGE amount of debugging it finally works, so if you are waiting from before the increase in April 2026 it should still work.

So hopefully that will be of use for some of you. My change got handed to my claim manager on the 10th August 2026, and as of today 30th August 2026 I am still waiting for it to be processed. I am unable to get my new vehicle until the claim has been processed so the wait continues.
Thank You For Visiting The Rambling Tarper
